Title: Why are so many children unhappy at school? And what we can do about it.
Repeated reports, research and articles over the years have highlighted that significant numbers of our schoolchildren are unhappy at school, with many suffering anxiety and mental health issues because of it. It is a long lasting and deep rooted problem. Yet we know that not only is learning an innate human trait, but also that it is one that can be a source of great satisfaction and enjoyment. So what’s going wrong?
This year’s CASE conference focuses on the scale of the problem, and asks what practical steps can be taken to address it.
Contributors include academics who have researched this field, along with both educationalists and a recent school student to suggest what we can do to improve children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing in…
